MiSK Global Youth Index
Visualising diverse global research
Youth development is one of the defining challenges of our time. The MiSK Foundation had the research to prove it. What they needed was a way to make that research work harder and facilitate change.
The Global Youth Index evaluates the conditions and opportunities for young people across 25 countries - a dataset with real policy implications for governments, institutions, and the private sector. The brief was to create an experience that matched the ambition of the research: immersive, accessible, and genuinely useful to a diverse global audience.
Interactive data visualisation
Soak developed a rich, interactive data tool built around a series of highly stylised visualisations, each designed to invite exploration rather than simply present findings.
Responsive prototypes were tested and refined iteratively, with close attention paid to how each component guided users deeper into the underlying data. The result is an experience that rewards both the casual visitor and the analyst, clear enough for a first reading, detailed enough for serious use.
A successful result
The Global Youth Index is used by youth leaders, governments, social organisations, and the private sector to benchmark country performance, shape policy, and build the case for vital global investment in young people.
