A well-adapted UK
The Fourth Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk
We developed a series of animations to help the Climate Change Committee deliver their Well-Adapted UK Report to government.
Adapting the UK for the impacts of climate change could involve significant changes to our infrastructure, how our resources are managed, and our food security systems. We helped the committee deliver this important report to government by breaking these large and often complex messages down into bitesize, accessible animations - to disambiguate the meaning and place abstract concepts into an understandable context.
Short, accessible animations
The animations illustrated potential real-world risks of climate change in scenes under current circumstances, then re-presented these scenes under more well-adapted scenarios.
This simple contrast allowed us to illustrate the report's messages - that strategic adaptations in certain areas may help the UK mitigate the effects of climate change. We also supported the more in-depth, data-based key messages by providing detailed animated infographics, in the form of maps and graphs.
The visual style of the animations also helped the Climate Change Committee consolidate their brand appearance. We supported this by providing a suite of illustrations, that are helping the Committee to redefine their visual aesthetic across their website, and social media reach.
A successful result
The report was presented to government on May 2026, with our data visualisations and animations helping to make the key messages immediate and accessible to policymakers.
