UNFPA SWEDD+
Data visualisation for young women and girls in Africa
Complex data about population, development, and opportunity doesn't communicate itself. The UNFPA needed it to clearly and compellingly reach an international audience, in more than one language.
The UNFPA's SWEDD project addresses demographic dividend across some of the world's most significant developing regions. The brief was to translate that work, its data, its implications, and its human relevance into a three-minute animation accessible to a broad, diverse audience.
Bringing data to life
Soak managed the project across four key phases: scripting, storyboarding, design and animation, and final production.
Working closely with the UNFPA team, we shaped the supplied narrative into a tight script, then translated it into a detailed visual storyboard for client approval. The finished film integrates dynamic data visualisations with a considered visual language, designed to make demographic statistics legible and engaging rather than dense and technical.
A successful result
A polished, multilingual animation that gives the SWEDD project a highly impactful, public-facing voice.
The video articulates the case for the demographic dividend to an international audience with clarity and purpose.
