A selection of recent work

To enhance the user experience, we restructured the entire information architecture, refining key user journeys to create clearer navigation and increase engagement with the university’s diverse content.

A key goal of the project was improving the ease of use of the CMS by developing a new series of templates aligned with the digital brand. These templates streamline content updates and ensure a consistent and effective experience for priority audiences.

Beyond showcasing the university’s courses, the website also features lifestyle content to help prospective students envision life in Norwich. This includes an accommodation finder and a student fees and funding calculator, offering essential resources for applicants.

To ensure long-term consistency across multiple digital channels, we developed a separate design system with reusable components, guidelines, and tools. This system enables Norwich University of the Arts to maintain a strong and cohesive digital identity across all platforms.

Through this redevelopment, we’ve helped the university create an engaging, user-friendly, and future-proofed website that supports both recruitment and brand storytelling.

A place for future shapers

Central to our design is an interactive landscape that familiarises users with the interconnected facets of industrial decarbonization. This includes areas like green energy generation, manufacturing industries, the national grid, ports, transportation, and the environment.

The tool features three interactive pathways tailored to different audience needs. These include a public engagement tool to build understanding of the net zero pathways and the impact of decarbonisation, a learning tool to guide school leavers toward potential training routes for a career in decarbonisation and for policy-makers to view relevant research findings.

In collaboration with IDRIC (the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre), we designed and developed an immersive visualisation tool that allows users to explore what a green industrial future looks like.

Visualising industrial decarbonisation

We designed fully responsive prototypes that evolved through several iterations, resulting in a flexible, modular interface that could accommodate the large number of activities on offer and the unique requirements of each venue. 

Complex, multi-tenant applications must be technically robust and adaptable to the ongoing requirements of the business. The underlying architecture was carefully considered to dovetail with Gravity&#39;s IT infrastructure and numerous 3rd party software solutions.

Gravity

Gravity are an international active entertainment brand offering immersive gaming, e-karting, trampolining and climbing activities across 20+ sites, including the UK, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

The data index and campaign featured in several global publications, including the New York Times and underpins a key report that kicks off Swiss Re&#39;s Climate Resilience Campaign for 2021, leading to the COP26 UN climate change conference later this year.

Shortly after being appointed Swiss Re&#39;s global data design partner, the team asked us to design and develop a new, data-driven experience and a suite of campaign assets that helped raise awareness of the global economic impact of climate change.

The interactive tool was seamlessly integrated into GoStudent&#39;s existing website infrastructure and needed to consider several crucial requirements from a UX and technology perspective, including the approach for multiple languages.

The tool carries a considerable volume of data that powers all the indices, country profiles, survey results and analysis. A wide variety of data views meant developing a data structure that ensured optimal speed and accessibility for the end-user. An innovative client-side rendering mechanism was used to achieve a fast and efficient experience.

STEM research career roadmap

GoStudent

GoStudent, the #1 rated global tutoring school, conducted a survey spanning seven countries that gained deep insight into education trends from both parent and student perspectives.

Our brief was to work with the static survey data, indices data, and a written report to create an engaging, intuitive, informative, and easy-to-understand interactive experience delivered in an ambitious timescale.

The fluid, scrolly-telling experience guides users through a series of visually-driven narratives that surface key findings using data visualisation underpinned by case studies focussing on practical, real-world situations.

Property investment based on facts not fiction

State of the States

We’ve been working closely with TotalJobs to bring their latest Social Mobility research study to life. Partnering with The Social Mobility Foundation, the research delves deep into the challenges and hurdles faced by people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds when applying for jobs in the UK.

The campaign’s primary goal was to help raise awareness and provide practical, data-driven advice to employers and recruiters.

The interface is enhanced with illustrations and is effective across all touchpoints, balancing the right level of information so users can easily explore multiple roles and discover opportunities they may have yet to be aware of.

In April 2021, the Royal Society published a report looking at trends in the proportion of Black and ethnic minority students and staff in STEM.

Key stakeholders wanted to develop an interactive roadmap to address a need for more transparency around pathways into and through various research careers.

The primary objective of this resource was to make academic careers within STEM less impenetrable and more transparent.

We successfully deployed the new brand across the new website and campaign materials, increasing awareness, engagement and, more importantly, subscriptions.

The online experience is more intuitive, and the underlying data, charts and visualisations are now more accessible and beautifully presented, leading to positive feedback from new and existing customers.

Property Data are the leading data resource for UK property investors. The subscription-based service gives users access to an array of advanced data analytics and research tools that help make more insightful and profitable investments.

Our brief was to reimagine the brand and improve the user experience and presentation of data both before and after subscription.

With over 2,500, constantly changing data points, updates can be made directly within the CMS or via a bulk upload facility, ensuring all data and supporting commentary is always accurate and up to date.

When Donald Trump became the 45th president of the USA, The London School of Economics (LSE) asked us to design and develop a new portal that allowed a worldwide audience to explore the latest movements within the political landscape of America.

There was also an opportunity to take users on a natural journey, from the initial ‘big picture’ historical performance into more nuanced content that enabled the filtering and comparison of revenue streams and operator performance across a range of key metrics.

TM Forum

The research team at the TMForum approached us to deliver an interactive data visualisation solution combining quantitative and qualitative research data that tracked revenue growth across the telecoms industry.

The solution needed to seamlessly integrate with TMForums’ existing tech stack and showcase trends, metrics, and services expansion across B2B, B2C, and the individual performance of 33 global telecom operators.

A recent addition to the GTCI, is the unique Talent Positioning System. This allows users to find out what Cities and Countries around the world are most suited to their individual requirements.

In addition to the web portal the index and supporting data tools were also deployed as interactive kiosks at live events along with on-stage presentation versions running on tablet devices.

The Adecco Group engaged Soak to develop the online platform for the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, an annual data and benchmarking report that measures the ability of countries based on their ability to grow, attract and retain talent.

The data tool has helped MISK gain a greater understanding of the key drivers behind youth development and how to scale up future activity. Youth, governmental, social leaders and the private sector use the Global Youth Index to:

The Global Youth Index evaluates the challenges and opportunities for youth development across 25 countries.

Our challenge was to create a rich, interactive experience, making the research, survey data and reports as immersive and informative as possible to a global audience.

Being able to compare a wealth of live data points and identify and track patterns and trends ensures Tappit and their clients can make more informed, strategic decisions to increase sales and improve the customer experience on numerous levels.

Users can build their reports using a simple drag-and-drop interface, and the flexibility of the underlying architecture ensures it is straightforward to integrate with event/hospitality industry software and APIs.

Tappit is the global payment and data ecosystem for events, stadiums and venues, providing unique end-to-end solutions, including cashless payments, white-label payment apps, RFID and event analytics.

The new App includes a host of functional, technical, user experience and design improvements, allowing users to explore, compare and test their knowledge across a vast amount of indices and data points.

To help The Economist digitise their popular annual pocket guide &#39;World In Figures&#39; into a subscription-driven, native app.

The final design interface leveraged the Misks&#39; new brand and used textures, patterns, and typography to create visual interest and distinct segmentation across each component and page template.

Our work concluded with a comprehensive design system and graphical toolkit that ensured Misks&#39; development partner could carry out the build and integration as easy as possible.

Misk Art Institute

The Misk Art Foundation wanted to create a vibrant online ecosystem that showcased the growth of a thriving, creative community that made the arts more accessible to everyone.

The new platform needed to empower emerging artists through an interconnected ecosystem of support, expertise and education. It needed to be a place of possibilities, somewhere artists could explore and feel inspired.
