Visualising data is the thing that gets us excited so we thought we would flex some of our creative and technical capabilities to bring you a seasonally themed interactive piece.
As the nights draw in and the temperature drops, most of us are looking forward to the festivities so we thought we would add some extra excitement by taking a snapshot of interesting facts that offer a broad perspective on seasonal behaviours, trends and struggles.
Sadly it's not all tinsel and baubles, there are facts about homelessness, food waste and mental health which should make us all think. If anyone is feeling charitable and extending some goodwill, we have provided some links to relevant organisations where donations would be appreciated. The charities that we thought would be fitting destinations are MIND, Trussell Trust, Shelter and The National Trust.
From a conceptual and creative point of view, we took broad inspiration from the 12 days of Christmas and the idea of an advent calendar to define a structure that we felt would provide a suitable UI framework to house the seasonal stats. We wanted something simple but relevant that viewers could easily consume. The illustrations have been produced in our brand style with a festive abstract twist depicting numbers, whilst the data visualisations echo the same style, which with the playful animations, we think delivers a pleasing overall experience. The technical implementation has taken a delightfully pragmatic approach using React and Tailwind with custom animations to be a fully responsive and reassuringly fast UI.
Please do get in touch with us if you have any data that you would like to present, make interactive, tell a story with or use to inform or excite an audience. We would be happy to have an initial chat to see if we can work together.
