Just launched: Misk - 'It starts with us'
SOAK Digital have been working with the Misk Foundation, a non-profit foundation devoted to encouraging learning and leadership in youth for a better future in Saudi Arabia. #ISWU is a partnership supported by the Misk Global Forum, and the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth.
The simple premise of the project is that one act, one idea, one change, will start a wave to inspire millions to fix the world.
SOAK were asked to build the website and furthermore created a solution to capture the pledges in real-time. We created a bespoke, technically complex ‘scraper’ to pick up content attached to a hashtag across social platforms. By capturing this worldwide, user generated content – the team at Misk can approve social submissions to inspire those coming to the website using the #hashtag #ISWU (It Starts With Us).
The website hosts a social wall to capture and showcase the pledges people are making globally to inspire others to change – a target of 50 million to be precise!
The website also allows users to sign up with their pledge and associated Sustainable Development Goal. With one of the 17 United Nations initiatives to choose from, including climate change, peace, justice for equality and responsible consumption and production - there’s a pledge for everyone.
