There’s a new face around the office at Soak Towers, our new Project / Account Manager Tom McNulty (who we’ve affectionately named McNaughty). We caught up with Tom to find out a little more about him, his experience and what makes him tick.
So Tom, it’s great to have you onboard tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Tom McNulty, I’m 23 and I’ve been working in the Digital Sector since 2011. I’ve come from a technical background within other development teams. Previously I’ve played the role of a ‘translator’ between a development team and my clients which puts me in a very strong position when scoping ideas with clients. My technical approach combined with experience means I’m able to accurately align a project’s scope to its budget. A useful tool to have when budget is a primary concern for clients.
Outside of work I enjoy exploring Europe on my motorbike, highlights being riding the San Bernardino Pass in Switzerland, the world famous Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps and racing around the Nuerburgring in Germany.
Can you tell us some more about who you’ve worked with over the years?
Over the last 5 years, I’ve had the privilege to work for and manage clients such as Jarrolds, Laura Ashley, Norfolk County Council, Thomas Sanderson, Woodfordes, Schofield Healthcare & Publishing, The Broads Authority, Harrods UK and Crowdmix.
Is there a particular project you’re especially proud of?
I ran an 18 month rebuild project for a popular multinational sport supplier. The old site was dated and didn’t offer much in the way of user experience. I managed the project from the initial requirements capture to overseeing the wireframe and design process all the way through to build and launch. I learnt an awful lot during this project and there were challenges to overcome since we had lots of stakeholders to please. However, I was able to coordinate a successful launch and go over and above the client’s expectations. I’m planning on bringing this experience into the already highly successful team here at Soak.
What were your first impressions of the team here at Soak?
I’ve always admired a team that genuinely gets on with one another, this is something that is plain to see at Soak. Everyone’s here for a reason and is able to bring a specific skillset to the table. The result is an incredibly approachable and knowledgeable ‘family’ of professionals at the top of their game. I think it’s fair to say the blue chip clients we service are a testament to the effectiveness of this approach.
